Originally from Calgary, Canada, Aversive (Avery Bremner) is an up and coming Drum and Bass and Triphop producer/dj who lives up to her name. Residing currently in the mountains of British Columbia, she stops at nothing to avert the masses from the humdrum of ordinary soundscapes while she paves her own path of sonic ingenuity.
Aversive has been gigging Western Canada since 2012. Opening the stage for international icons such as FreQ Nasty, Bluetech, Kursa, Shamanic Technology, and Iris (of Quadrant and Iris). Since her first signed EP (“Inner Visions”) was released by MalLabel Music in early 2014 she has had thousands of plays Soundcloud.  Aversive has earned invites to play festivals and groundbreaking events across Western Canada and internationally, including; Bamboo Bass Music Festival (Costa Rica), Awakening Music Festival, Indigo Pulse Music Festival, the Spectrum Stage at Motion Notion Music Festival, Female Arts & Music Exhibition, and more! With support coming from crews such as DnB Girls, Come Correct, 403DnB, and Footwork Jungle, Aversive began making a name for herself quickly as a Western Canada DJ/Producer.
From 2014 to 2017 alone, Aversive has had 9 individual signed released on labels including; MalLabel Music (San Francisco, U.S.A.), The Outtallectual Collective (London, U.K.), The Glitch Shop (U.K.), Black Tuna Recordings (Vancouver, Canada), as well as multiple self released EPs. With the enthusiasm and grit of a true visionary, Aversive showcases her kaleidoscopic approach to electronic music production seamlessly. Whether its Drum and Bass, Triphop, or deep psychedelic Bass Music, her unique and enigmatic sound is hard to pass by. Combining influences from both old school and new school sounds, Aversive's tracks are pleasing to both old school heads and new bass music pioneers. Her sound can be dark or light, but always emotionally expressive, taking the listener on a journey of introspection. In early 2014 her debut signed EP, “Inner Visions” (released on MalLabel Music), earned praise and reviews from the popular electronic music blogs Afro Monk and The Dankles. Later in 2014, her mind bending and haunting IDM inspired DnB track “Intelligent Design” (released on the Outtallectual's Geotropism Compilation) was featured on the popular EDM Network blog DrumNBass.Net, reaching #4 on their Top 10 of the Month chart with over 10,000 plays on Soundcloud. Fortress EP, her most recent 4 track EP (released on Black Tuna Recordings) has received a well earned 8/10 from the online electronic music mag Dub Selekta, and had a feature review written by Scottish Drum and Bass blog, DnB Dojo. Aversive turned heads again with her newest release, a VIP mix of the bass enveloped half-step track "Didgeridoo", which came out January 2016.
